Namely, 24 people with different anxiety issues participated in the study. They were divided into two groups. The first group took 600 mg of CBD, while the second group took a placebo.

Both groups were instructed to take their CBD/placebo 1 and a half hours before speaking in a simulated public speaking event.

Additionally, 12 people were instructed to also speak in the simulation. However, they didn’t take any CBD or a placebo.

The results showed that the group that took the CBD treatment showed far fewer symptoms of anxiety than the other groups.

On the other hand, a study from 2018, published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology showed that people suffering from paranoia showed no improvement whatsoever.

Finally, a study published in 2017 in the Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research concluded that the effects of cannabis did not help reduce responses to negative emotional stimulation in participants who were not suffering from anxiety issues.
